Patrick Heinen new CEO

Karben, 30 March 2026 – König + Neurath AG is reorganising its leadership for the next phase of its transformation. Important milestones have already been reached in the ongoing self-administration proceedings: a financing commitment provides planning certainty, and an agreement has also been reached with employee representatives. On this basis, the company is consistently focusing on the further development of its business model and the long-term strengthening of competitiveness, profitability and resilience.
On 1 April 2026, Patrick Heinen, previously Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), will take over as Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO). The Executive Board will henceforth be led by a single member.
Since January 2026, Patrick Heinen has been responsible for the operational and financial management of the restructuring process and the further development of the business model. He brings with him extensive experience in transformation and turnaround, as well as in managing complex stakeholder processes.
The previous CEO, Steffen Schwerd, is leaving the company by mutual agreement. The Supervisory Board and shareholders would like to express their sincere thanks for his dedication: since taking office in March 2025, he has steered the company through a challenging phase with great commitment and contributed to the successful self-administration.
“By consolidating responsibility within the Executive Board, we are establishing clear lines of authority and increasing our effectiveness in implementation,” explains the group of shareholders. “The milestones achieved are an important step – now it is crucial to consistently implement the next measures and strengthen König + Neurath in the long term.”
